Inspiration from the spring garden

I find much inspiration in our gardens and must admit that I do none of the work to create the beauty found there. That is all my husband’s doing and he is truly an artist in the garden. Spring comes slowly here, and in fits and starts, so we are ready for blooms when they arrive!

Here are some early wildflower and garden blooms in our yard.

Many of the lines, colors, and shapes in these image will find their way into my painting. The goal is not to replicate what is here but rather capture an essence. Right now the starting point seems to be color and I look forward to mixing more of the beautiful hues discovered in the garden.
