Paris Notes: Light in the Louvre and Centre Pompidou

Gallery in the louvre museum with classical sculpure

The natural light in the galleries of the Louvre interacts with the art in such beautiful ways.

And the light is quite lovely under I.M. Pei’s pyramids, too!

We visited the Centre Pompidou, which was just a few blocks from where we stayed, on a number of evenings. The building is open until 10 p.m. (the galleries close at 9 p.m.) and offers great views of the city.

While there is a fee to see the art, it’s free to ride up the escalators and take in the view.

The evening light in the galleries was rather magical though and the art is amazing, well worth the price of admission.
